The Cheverly Boys and Girls Club is offering baseball and tee-ball leagues for the 2024 season! CBGC baseball and tee-ball is for children ages 4-12 years old and is played in the Spring, between March and June.
Age Division is determined by the child's age as of May 1st, 2024. So if your child turns 9 on April 30th, they are considered 9 and will play kid pitch. If your child turns 9 on May 2nd, they are considered 8 and will play coach pitch.
A big change for 2024 is we are doing away with Machine Pitch and replacing it with Coach Pitch.
Due to ongoing construction at Town Park, only 1 field is available this season. Don't worry, we have secured additional fields in/around Cheverly so there is no impact on practices and games. We will be utilizing Town Park 1, Euclid Park, Boyd Park, and the field behind the Kentland Community Center, which is easily accessible off Columbia Park road, just outside of the Cheverly Limits (by the Amazon warehouse).
IN TOWN LEAGUES
For the 2024 season, CBGC is offering the following Intramural Leagues:
- 6U Intramural Tee-ball League(4-6* year olds)
- 8U COACH Pitch Intramural Baseball League (6-8* year olds)
Both these leagues practice and play games only at the fields listed above.
*6 year olds will be evaluated and placed in either Tee Ball or Coach Pitch based on appropriate skill level.
KID PITCH TEAMS
For the 2024 season, CBGC is fielding the following Kid Pitch teams:
- 10U Team (9-10 year olds)
- 12U Team (11-12 year olds)
All players who register by the deadline are guaranteed a place on a team. We do not cut players. The only exception is if we do not get enough players to field a team in a particular age group. If that occurs, a full refund will be given, and an alternative option will be provided for them to play.
All Kid Pitch teams will practice at the fields listed above but will play in a league that is combined with the Bowie Boys and Girls Club. Games will be played in Cheverly and in Bowie.

4-5 year olds: No evaluations
6 year olds: 10am
7-8 year olds: 11am
9-12 year olds: No evaluations
FEES AND UNIFORMS
$85*
*Fees include a jersey and hat for all levels. Kid Pitch League players MUST purchase their own gray baseball uniform pants prior to the first game. Cleats are highly encouraged for all players (they must be rubber/plastic spikes, no metal spikes allowed).
Tee Ball and Coach Pitch players are not required to purchase baseball uniform pants, but are of course welcome to. Coach Pitch players MUST wear long pants, either sweatpants or uniform pants. NO SHORTS ARE ALLOWED. For tee ball, long pants are highly encouraged, preferably no shorts, for player safety.
Players must purchase and bring their own gloves/mitts. Helmets and bats are provided by CBGC (but players are welcome to purchase/bring their own). All bats must be stamped as "USA Baseball" which certifies they meet current safety requirements. Any bats lacking this designation will NOT be allowed to be used in practices or games.
COACHES
We cannot run our leagues without volunteer coaches. If you are willing to be a coach (head or assistant) please be sure to mark that box during registration. Any questions about coaching can be directed to the Baseball Commissioner.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
CBGC does not want any child to be prevented from playing sports due to financial hardship. Financial assistance is available, please contact the Baseball Commissioner for more information. All requests are kept confidential.
